This is a great sturdy and handsome piece of furniture. Made of beautiful hard wood and metal frame. The finish is a little darker than I thought it would be, but still a perfect match for my bedroom, where I use it for my computer, printer and other items. There are adjustable feet at the bottom of the four legs, in case your floor is uneven, etc. This is a really nice piece. Unlike some other folks here who left reviews, mine does not have any strange or strong scent. It smells completely fine and normal. Everything came well packaged, with just the right amount of packing materials. There was a slight (very small) chip on the very bottom of the shelf I used on the bottom. Not from shipping, likely a small defect in manufacturing. They offered me a 15% discount and I accepted. I turned that shelf to face the back and I am satisfied. For the price, these are great little bookshelves. The white shelving is particleboard with melamine and the outer end brackets and rear crossbars are metal with a polished chrome finish. There are round rubber legs on the base and the top caps. This was very easy to assemble with simple screws and an Allen wrench. I ordered 2 shelves for my office and each one took about 15 mins. to assemble. I am an Architect + Interior Designer and I needed simple shelves to house material samples and keep them organized in my office. Each shelf is rated to hold approx. 30 lbs, which is the perfect capacity for my material samples and or any books also.
