These are really sturdy. The legs are wood but they have two metal square pieces that support the legs. Seats are super comfortable. These barstools are sold in sets of 2 and we needed 4. When we got them there was only 1 box that had the instructions included. I can't imagine how long it would have taken us to assemble the chairs without them.......
