I was a little worried when my package arrived as the box had some damage to it, but thankfully my headboard didn't. It can stand alone on it's own or attach to a bedframe. It is heavy enough to just stand on it's own, but I put bolts in mine, that didn't come with it, and mounted it to my frame. It does match the online description of it and its pictures very well.
