Ponytail Palm brings a playful architectural element to home décor with a shape that looks more like living sculpture than a traditional house plant. Use it to add height beside a low console, balance an accent chair, or bring movement to a room filled with clean furniture lines. Its rich green coloring pairs easily with warm wood, leather, stone, rattan, black accents, and neutral textiles. Place the grower pot inside a terracotta container for a relaxed desert inspired look, a white ceramic planter for a clean finish, or a woven basket for added warmth and texture. Its narrow footprint makes it a smart decorating choice for apartments, offices, entryways, and other spaces where floor space is limited.

The huge, beautiful plant arrived with brown tips after eleven days of a shipment ordeal courtesy of FedEx. FedEx picked up the package from the grower on July 3. The palm sat in Florida for a week before continuing to Idaho. I received it July 14. However aggravating shipping companies can be, the volume of the palm exceeded all expectations--it is gorgeous! I'm going to wait a couple of weeks before transplanting it to avoid stressing it further.. Sally. Boise, ID. Tue Jul 15 2025

The Beaucarnea guatemalensis, or more commonly known as the Ponytail palm and Elephants foot, are unique looking, long-lasting indoor plant which are perfect for beginners or expert plant lovers because of its low maintenance and easy care needs. Despite its palm like appearance and name, the Elephants Foot is not a true palm, it is closely related to desert plants in the Agave and Yucca genus. The Ponytail Palm has a exclusive feature within the swollen base of its trunk, which is where it stores a reserve of water making it highly tolerant to drought. The texture of the trunk looks and feels like an elephants foot from which clusters of long strap-like leaves arch and droop gracefully from the trunk giving the impression of a palm. No 2 specimens are alike ensuring that your ponytail palm is 1 of a kind. If you're looking for a plant that will make a statement and add green color in your house or office with low maintenance and easy care, then the Ponytail Palm is a great choice. Indoor house plants are proven to be excellent air purifiers which help decrease stress and anxiety while stimulating creativity and productivity. Great for yourself or as a gift.

Introduce a piece of prehistoric beauty into your home with the Sago Palm (Cycas revoluta), a member of the ancient Cycadaceae family that brings a unique, exotic flair to indoor and outdoor spaces. Known for its stiff, dark green, feather-like fronds that radiate from a central trunk, the Sago Palm makes a dramatic statement in any setting. Its symmetrical, bold foliage is ideal for adding a touch of architectural elegance to living rooms, offices, or patios, blending seamlessly into minimalist, modern, or tropical design schemes. The Sago Palm thrives in well-draining soil with a preference for bright, indirect sunlight, though it can tolerate low light conditions. This hardy, drought-resistant cycad prefers moderate humidity and temperatures between 65°F and 85°F (18°C to 29°C). Water sparingly, as the Sago Palm is prone to root rot in overly saturated soils. Allow the top 2-3 inches of the soil to dry out between waterings. Given its slow growth rate, it is a low-maintenance option, requiring infrequent pruning and only occasional repotting. Despite its rugged beauty, the Sago Palm is toxic if ingested, so it’s important to keep it away from pets and small children. With proper care, the Sago Palm can live for decades, becoming a long-term fixture in your home or garden. Whether you're looking to add an ancient, natural aesthetic to your space or create a low-maintenance landscape centerpiece, the Sago Palm's resilience and timeless appeal make it a perfect choice for plant collectors and design enthusiasts alike.

The common characteristics of this plant include a bulbous trunk, which is used to store water, and its long, hair-like leaves that grow from the top of the trunk like a ponytail, giving the plant its renowned name. A ponytail palm tree needs bright light, but because it is such a forgiving plant, it will be okay if you give it bright light about half the time. In fact, if you keep it in low light conditions half the year and provide bright light conditions the other half the year, it will be perfectly happy. This means that as long as you place it outdoors in the summer, it will tolerate any indoor light conditions you keep it in during the winter. In its native environment (eastern Mexico), the entire plant has been known to reach up to 30 feet in height! However, ponytail palms that are grown in gardens as landscape plants dont usually get to be more than 10 feet tall. Kept indoors, they are rarely taller than 4 feet. As desert-natives, ponytail palms dont need much humidity, but placement near a draft or vent should be avoided as it may dry out the foliage. Use a fast draining soil, such as a cacti and succulent potting mix. If you have potting soil, sand, and perlite already on hand, you can create your own desert soil mixture: Simply mix 1 part potting soil, 1 part perlite, and 1 part sand.
