I inserted a rigid piece of cardboard inside one end and stood it up on that end.. strapped it all around on the outside with the included extra snap/adjustable straps. (would be able to hang from the rafter by the handle, also if need be)... works well and was able to carry it to my shed without difficulty... I like how it has a three-sided flap zipper for ease of placing and removing the tree.. The bag itself is a backed canvas like a duffle ( it is NOT rigid box) and the zipper works well... no problems and am quite happy with my purchase... would purchase again.. Susan. Muskegon, MI. Huge tree, but just what I needed for a cathedral ceiling. It came in four boxes and was very easy to assemble by myself using a 6' ladder. (I'm 5’8”). Overall, a really nicely shaped tree. Not too large of a storage box. Very nice looking. My only disappointment is that the inner parts of each branch has those really stiff/rigid PVC-needle twigs that do not bend as nicely as the typical PVC needles. While each branch does have the really flexible/movable PVC branches, the overly stiff/hard-to-bend inner ones even were up in the top of hte tree where the bendable kind would have been nicer to have (so you can use the bendable branches to secure ribbon or the light strand, etc.).
