These are in the style of a Roman shade, which is a nice concept for covering the glass panel in French Doors. They are magnetic, so easy to position up or drop down. However, instead of some type of metal or sturdy resin material, the “rod” inserts at the back of the shade are cheap plastic tubes which do not fit tightly enough or stay together very well— when inserting to the back of the curtain, the sections come apart. There are several colors to choose from, and the material is lightweight, but blocks even the strong sunlight we have in the desert. This product is hand-chiseled out of recycled steel oil drums by Haitian artisans using techniques first developed by Georges Liautaud in the late 1950s when he chalked out his first design on a flattened steel oil drum and then cut it out by hand with a mallet and chisel. Exactly what I have been looking for. I took awhile but I finally found the window toppers for my size. I did sand them and paint with good enamel paint (2 coats) for the finish I wanted. These thin, translucent films provide privacy while still allowing natural light to enter the room. Films are easily applied to any smooth glass surface. They do not use adhesives and are easily removed if needed. They can be trimmed or combined to fit any size window. The images have a repeating pattern left to right and top to bottom and can be used either vertically or horizontally. This kind of window film will appear dark until removed from the protective paper backing and placed on the window.

When I receive this film, I did not think it would look very good as the geometric shapes were larger than expected. Once I installed it, I loved the pattern and how easy it was to install.
