My husband and I are building a house and we the windows on the front have a round transom. We didn't add a transom above the door and we just felt the door needed something else. I searched a bunch of different websites and Wayfair was cheaper and had more options for sizing. The quality is fabulous. Not sure if we installed it correctly or not...the siding was already on the house so we just put it on top of siding...then we didn't have to worry about adding J-channel. The only negative was shipping...it really does take 3+ weeks to get it. Pediments are the portion of the trim that is located above the pilasters, which are the column like frames on the sides of windows and doors. Directly below the pediments though, between the pediment and the pilasters, is a crosshead or breast board. The crosshead is the flatter, protruding section directly above the door. Pediments can be purchased by themselves or can come with a crosshead already attached. These Pediments are manufactured out of a high-density urethane, which is made to resemble wood without the maintenance required by wood products. Urethane products are resistant to cracking, splitting and rotting. They are usually less expensive than wood alternatives.
