Replaced a set of typical folding doors in my smaller sized Laundry Rm and one to the Furnace Rm at the end of a short hallway. In both cases, the Mirrored Doors definitely expandlengthen their spaces!! I was too anxious to get them up and so will Stain and Clear Coat now, after installation [time will tell if that waswasn’t wise]. I really wanted a lighter natural colored wood (maple or pine) and these were just perfect. WisH LisT 1) the Sticker Labels removed neatly so that while having to leave the Glass Film Coat intact until the trim is treated they wouldn’t look Sooo awful [I’ve also read the Film Coating is a nightmare to remove], 2) there wasn’t such a large space between the Doors when closed, 3) the Back was Finished in some fashion (even if the price was higher) OR at least a photo of the foam backing was shown up front prior to purchase. The only issue I had with them were they were so heavy for me to install myself - I had to hire a contractor to put them up which cost more money than the closets unfortunately! Wait….this is actually AWESOME!! I didn’t realize only one side had the mirrors and the other side had a film. This is great because now I can put the mirror side facing inside the bathroom to make the room appear larger since it’s tiny, and the film side facing the bedroom to give the bathroom a luxurious privacy vibe. the door is beautiful, the first one i received was damaged but customer service was great and replaced it. I still had a lot of trouble with the bottom pivot so i ended up putting the doors on pivot hinges instead of the bifold track. it looks great for the laundry room and allows a lot of natural light without seeing the laundry. Our office entry way is huge, 84W by 89H, so we needed the largest size door this had to offer. Pro - the doors were super easy to assemble and the material is heavy duty. Con - definitely took 2 people to assemble the rail track and lift the doors, challenging to get the rail perfectly level and studded into the wall securely, I am still slightly concerned we don't have enough reinforcement holding it up with a basic 1x6 headboard as suggested on the instructions. These bi-fold doors are going to be perfect for my pantry! I love the look of the bar doors, but sadly don't have the wall room for them. This bi-fold door is the perfect compromise. We totally love the new hallway doors! They have replaced 1980s louver doors and make the entry now feel so contemporary and up-to-date. Yes, we relied on our local contractor to install them, as they needed to be trimmed to fit the existing height requirement. The cost of the doors and labor together were well-worth it, though -- our contractor is sending a picture of the doors to other clients, as they are sure to be a popular replacement in our condo community. :).
