Got a pair to hold board games. Yes, they are metal (but could you expect wood this thin to be strong?) and are about the right size. Easy to put together for the most part, and I had no trouble getting holes to line up, but they do tend to rock/wobble just a bit. And there is a LOT of bright brass hardware that shows on the sides. I love almost everything about this bookshelf. The color is beautiful and the arch is exactly what I was looking for and very trendy but still timeless. My problem was with putting it together. It took three of us four days rotating through who was working on it. The top and bottom are separate and my son gave up on the top after four hours. Then I stepped in and did more until I got stuck trying to fit the carved edge in the slot. Then my husband finished it. The bottom was rough. One of the dowels you have to glue in didn't line up with the hole so my husband had to use a knife to cut it off after taking it apart multiple times in case he did something wrong. Nothing was wrong, the hole for it just didn't line up for some reason. Now that it's together I love it but next time I'm hiring out.. Elle. Portland, OR. Sat Jun 27 2026

The book self is absolutely beautiful!!! I️ have received many compliments from friends and family. It includes special led lights that look amazing. My only feedback is that the very top arch does not have any lights, so maybe in the future they could add a little spotlight. Other than that it is great.
