This accent shelf borrows inspiration from a French country design aesthetic. It features a solid wood rectangular shelf with a scrollwork cutout mount. We love that the paint on the metal has been purposefully rubbed off, giving this wall shelf a vintage, flea-market-find look. This shelf looks beautiful, but installation was more difficult than expected. It was challenging to align and level the two wood pieces during assembly. I also don’t feel the base is sturdy enough to handle the pressure of a traditional pump hand soap dispenser. To avoid putting stress on it, I switched to an electric soap dispenser. To my taste the distressing is a little heavy handed But that’s a matter of personal preference. All in all I am happy enough with them.
