The furniture does the job is meant to do., a sidebar. Although some reviews mentioned the instructions were difficult to follow and others said it took them 2 days to put together, I was able to follow them. Some graphics were not cleared, but after analyzing the furniture and deduction of which side goes were, get werent that bad to follow. I put it together by myself in a few hours. Yes, the paint coat is very thin and easily be scratched. I placed a rubber runner on top to protect it and it work well. My only complaint is that the bottom doors hinges pre-drilled holes were made too forward. As result, it causes the doors to rub the frame and not closing, unless forced closed. We assembled this sideboard console last night, and overall we are really happy with it. The faux travertine finish gives it a modern but warm look that fits beautifully in our dining area. It looks much more expensive than I expected, and the curved edges and sleek handles give it a very clean, well-designed appearance. Once fully assembled, it feels sturdy and solid, especially with the metal support bar running across the inside for extra stability. Assembly itself was fairly straightforward, and the instructions were easy enough to follow. One thing that actually worked out in our favor was receiving two of the smaller boxes, because one of them had damaged doors inside. Thankfully, the extra box saved the day. My biggest complaint is definitely the hinges. They feel very cheap and extremely stiff, and the predrilled holes for mounting them were too large. When attaching the doors, the screws pulled right out of the wood almost immediately. I was able to fix the problem using toothpicks and a little wood glue, but that should not have been necessary on a brand-new piece of furniture.
