The cushions are vacuum-compressed for packaging. Before installation, please firmly pat the cushions to help the silk cotton quickly expand and fill the entire cushion. It usually takes 2-3 days for cushions to fully plump up to optimal state.

It is just the size I needed. I was surprised at how easily and quickly I put it together by myself. Only needed help setting it upright and moving it to the rug. This is an elegant, firm sofa that was easy to assemble solo, and this is not something I usually do. I did have a friend help me flip it up onto its legs after assembly. The box arrived really beat up, and I had misgivings as I was unwrapping, but the contents were protected. I have now had this sofa for over a year; I slept on it for three months while fostered cats and kittens took over my bedroom. It would work to use it as a daily bed, but it is VERY firm. The blue velvet fabric has held up nicely despite 2 cats (who fortunately, do not scratch it). I have received many compliments on it; it is the focal point of the sitting area. I absolutely love the futon. It is beautiful, comfortable, and exactly what I was looking for. My only concern was the delivery communication. When I purchased it, I was given an estimated delivery date, but the item did not arrive on that day. When I checked the order status, it showed as delayed. I contacted customer service through chat and was told there was no estimated delivery date available. Because of that uncertainty, I decided I wanted to cancel the order. The next day, however, I received an email saying the order could not be canceled because the futon was already in transit. This made me feel that Wayfair did not have clear information regarding the actual delivery timeline. Fortunately, the delay ended up being only three days, which was much less serious than I had expected based on the information I received through chat. I am actually very glad I did not cancel the purchase because I truly love the futon. The only issue is that one of the legs arrived with a few small dents, and the box itself arrived with a hole and appeared to have been opened. I assume these are transportation-related issues, and I hope Wayfair can provide a solution for these minor damages. Overall, I am very happy with the futon. This is far larger than I expected it to be. Not in a bad way... and I'm sure the description has the measurements to it and I overlooked it. The back just sits up really high, but it works. The teal of the mattress is a beautiful, deep, rich color. It is a heavy piece of furniture and takes several hours to put together. This is perfect for my needs, I just wanted something that looked nice but also was functional. The color is a very nice gray and it fits the small space I had. It is hard but not that uncomfortable. I won't know how well it last for a few months, but as of now I am really happy. It took my grandson a little over an hour to put together.
