He was easy to put together. The ears and rack fit in very snuggly in the slots provided so they do not move. If one wanted to they could use some wood glue and make the attachment more permanent. Placed these on my mantel to fill up the huge amount of white space above. Took a long time to get used to something so large and dark but I'm very happy with the look now. My only complaint is that they are a little thick so they take up a lot of space on the mantel. If I wasn't very short and very lazy, I'd hang them instead of propping them up, but I do like to change out he art seasonally and like I said, I'm lazy.
