The chair is hand-carved out of solid Mahogany and finished in an extensive hand-applied stunning gold leaf. Another exclusive design and finish from our Heritage Collection, a collection of fine, handmade furniture in the purest of standards of age-old traditional crafting. Each piece is hand-carved, one piece at a time, by some of the world's best carvers. The special Mahogany wood comes from replanted forests. The selected wood has been kiln-dried. The item in its final form is stress and pressure-tested before finishing to ensure long-lasting stability, in most climates. Sold separately but often ordered in pairs. I fell in love with this onsight. I love egyptian art decor. I finally purchased it. When it finally arrived it was damaged but Wayfair made things right. I would suggest when packaging and shipping items like this to surround it with styfoam and bubble wrap and then put in the box.
