George Sellers created Athena by hand carving it from clay; a plaster casting was then sent to Italy for production in ceramic. The original, thought to be from the 4th century BC, is on display at the Louvre in Paris, France. Athena was the Greek goddess of many things: wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, just warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill. Minerva is the Roman goddess equivalent of Athena. The Greek city of Athens and the goddess Athena essentially bear the same name. Our goddess is made from terracotta-based ceramic, formulated in a method the Italians refer to, the act of packing a perfectly produced mold with terracotta clay. Once allowed to dry it is pulled away from the mold and transferred to a kiln where it's fired at 950 degrees, then fired for a 2nd time after being glazed in our signature antique white glaze. Warrior goddess extraordinaire and all from the hands of George Sellers.

A timeless meditation on beauty and form, the sculpture captures the serene grace of classical antiquity. The finely sculpted head is poised upon a golden Jaisalmer marble plinth—its contrast a union of light and earth, refinement and strength. Supported by a burnished brass stem, the composition feels both ancient and modern, like a rediscovered fragment from a lost atelier.

The Athena dining chair is a harmonious blend of elegance and durability, ideal for any dining space. Featuring a solid mahogany wood frame and legs, it provides a sturdy foundation while its upholstered slat back adds a layer of sophistication. This chair effortlessly complements various decor styles, making it a versatile addition to your home.

If design is important to you, then this chair will be a pleasant surprise. The Klismos legs are not just curved decoratively. They are built into the chair in a way the Greeks intended! They actually support the weight of the person using the chair. My most delightful moment was when my back nestled into the curve of the chair, and I realized why Sappho got so much writing done! The chair is incredibly light in weight, which is also how a true Klismos should be. Love it!. Carly. Houston, TX. Sun Jul 18 2021

This captivating oil painting presents a powerful figurative silhouette, its profile gazing pensively into the distance. A masterful study in texture and contrast, this contemporary wall art captures a moment of deep contemplation. This serene silhouette is strikingly set against a fiery, heavily textured background of vibrant oranges, warm yellows, and rich ochres, reminiscent of a weathered ancient fresco.
