It took us several hours to finish putting it together mostly because we don't often construct things. When you get to the part where you attach an inner ring to the outer legs, we used the large box it came in to hold it in place by placing it under the metal pieces- which balanced it and held it in place while you screw in place.. The wood grain look is unique for each arm, so they don't look mass produced. I don't know what the mesh on the chair backs is made of, but it looks and feels like a natural fiber. The mesh is very sheer, and I love that for my small patio -- it makes it look more open and airy. The chairs are lightweight and can be easily moved but are heavy enough to not blow over if it gets a little windy. The only thing I don't like is that one chair rocks very slightly.
