This gazebo is nice once completed. We were stuck at the beginning with the 4 roof corner poles. The entire screw and holder for the screws came out of the poles. It’s really nice! Got a professional to put it together and it took a long time and some extra tools from the hardware store to get it the way we wanted it. I've purchased several things through Wayfair and each of those was a pleasant experience. This hard-topped gazebo is beautiful now that it is complete and it looks impressive in our yard. We look forward to many years of use. But, it had a couple of misleading aspects to it The estimated construction time mentioned on the item's site was grossly understated. Even with the help of a second person for certain tasks, it took me more than 4 times the estimate in the listing -- and I am pretty experienced at constructing similar things. The product's installation instructions were nicely illustrated, but several parts were mis-labled in the instructions and several of the instructions didn't cover crucial details. More instructions and more explicit details would have been very useful. Some instructions were so ambiguous that I had to try out more than one possibility, going back and re-doing certain things. That is the product manufacturer's fault, though. Wayfair's transaction went very well. They are efficient, speedy, accurate and responsive. One quibble: in the time between placing my order and receiving the shipping confirmation (just a couple of days), the gazebo's price dropped almost $100. I love my gazebo. I purchased this to replace a soft canopy gazebo that I used for a few years. I researched gazebos for months before finally purchasing this one. I intended on purchasing one with a metal top because I wanted to ensure that it would last for years to come and most importantly I didn't want it to leak when it rained. At the last minute I started to reconsider a polycarbonate roof because the metal options, like my black covered soft top gazebo would not allow light in, so would be darker during the day. I decided that while I enjoyed the protection from the sun, it would still be nice to have some light. Normally, I regret last minute changes...but not this time. I ended up with the best of both worlds! This gazebo does not leak (and it has withstood rain and snow). It blocks the UV rays but still allows light in during the day, and is not pitch black at night when using the gazebo. A metal roof would be completely dark at night, mine allows moonlight in, which makes it functional without extra lighting (and a bit romantic) at night. The only thing that would make it better are things that are unreasonable like having a self cleaning roof or actually being a screened in porch, lol! Took two professionals 11 hands-on hours to complete. Instructions claiming it takes 3 hours is a said joke - takes 2 hours just to unpack all the parts and peel plastic coating off the roof panels. Maybe there’s a better way to design it or preassemble some so it doesn’t all fall on the customer. Bigger issue I have is that there are no covers for the hardware at the feet - pretty ugly. I'm proactively giving a good rating, and will be back after assembly tomorrow. Good price, and I did some comparisons. I'm disappointed about the delivery. I've had large items delivered before a walk-in tub, custom sofa sleeper and both times, with specific, confirmed delivery instructions - had to get assertive with delivery guys, who prefer to drop these and similar items on my driveway in plain site. For this gazebo delivery, my instructions were to put these heavy boxes in my garage, which didnt happen. The garage doors were wide open FedX never cooperates UPS does. I can always depend on UPS. Ill see how this Assembly goes and then write my review. I'M BACK! Paying for the assembly was smart. 2 guys in uniforms showed up 7 am promptly the day of the predicted storm, and moved the boxes into my garage. They returned the following morning 7 am sharp, laid out all the pieces and had the gazebo built and secured to my deck. Then with owner supervising, the drapes/netting hung with completion in record time at 10:30 am. The gazebo is absolutely beautiful. My neighbor even took pictures of it. They can be confusing and definitely aren’t the clearest, so assembly took quite a bit of time. Just taking inventory of all the pieces across all three boxes took us over an hour! Overall, it took about three separate days to put together, spending roughly 5–6 hours each day. That said, this was assembled by one person, so I think that’s important to keep in mind. With two people, I imagine the process would go much faster. Once it’s up, though, it is SO worth it. The quality is really nice, it looks beautiful, and it has completely transformed our deck. Based on reviews and cost was the reason we went with this gazebo. It fits our space and the fact it has a metal roof was a great selling point. Our previous canopy had a canvas top which needed replaced every year. I did most of the install myself. I had very little help which was even necessary. It took me four days, so I went slow and steady. The picture only instructions were really pretty good. All the parts were there and all the holes lined up. Which brings me to building of the gazebo. I left all major screws and bolts that attached the horizontal rails to the legs loose. One of the issues mentioned in reviews was being able to make this thing “square.” I’m handy, but square can be tough at times. By leaving screws and bolts loose, it allowed me to make the necessary adjustments when installing the roof panels. Once all the roof panels were installed, I tightened up all the screws and bolts. Right now, my wife and I are enjoying a glass of wine while sitting here on a perfect evening and watching the sunset. I'm so glad I got it! I can't say much about the assembly because I had it done by someone else. I believe I could have if I had more time in my life. I can say it took about 6 hours for two guys who do this for a living. We had it bolted to the concrete patio with wedge anchors, and it appears to be very secure. We've had some pretty severe thunderstorms recently, and I'm not concerned about this thing moving. I purchased an outdoor fan that hangs nicely from the ceiling hook. Someone else said they put up some screening and used magnets to keep it in place around the part of the roof that raises up. I purchased some screen but have yet to put it to use. Now that we have this gazebo up, which we enjoy, we occasionally work outside when we work from home. Having that option is wonderful. With the help of a lovely outdoor rug and some lovely outdoor furniture, we were able to make the gazebo quite comfortable. In order to hang out there at night, we also installed lighting. We enjoy entertaining as well, and this is always a hit at get-togethers and barbecues. Solid construction. Not quite like the picture. Screws are black, not gold, roof panel does not look exactly like picture either. Put together by myself in about 13 hours, from unboxing to last screw, not extremely handy but a decent DIY'er. I did needed about 10 minutes of help from my wife to align the brace supports from the posts to the frame. The most annoying part was taking all the plastic off the metal roof panels (Tip: Don't try to do this if the panels are too cold or too hot, you will be tearing off small pieces). Out of all the material I would say the roofing panels look good but are very thin, the framing structure is quite sturdy to brace the panels but wouldn't want much snow to build up on it, as I can see the panels sagging under the weight.. We have had a lot of rain so we just were now able to inventory everything. It was all there according to the parts list and all very well packaged. The corners of the panels were well protected. The curtains were tan although I hoped they would be blue like they were pictured but the description didn't say the color. They will still look beautiful. Very excited to put it up although it will still be a few weeks because we had hall damage to our house and the lithe gazebo we already have and that will need repaired our removed first.. Mara.
