SEPT 25TH UPDATE Though the bottom of the cushion indicates FRONT for what I assume is where your knees would be when sitting in the chair, I find it far more comfortable to turn the cushion around. When it is installed with FRONT where your knees should be, it feels like it is pushing me out of the chair or that I am going to slide off the front of the chair. When reversed, I can sit back and relax. I think it is just the way the padding is loaded and that it might be a preference thing. These chairs!! I am in love. I got one and immediately ordered a second. They are stunning, unique, retro style with extra pizazz, weighty, and very well made. Each solid wood leg, the chair seat base and the single piece wrap aroundarm that you lift as you are putting it all together and the hardware is wonderful quality. I ordered 2 chairs for my kitchen. I like that the chairs are made of ash, a hardwood. I expect them to hold up well. The arms and overall style make them very comfortable. One of the chairs will benefit from stain touchups at the joinery point in the back and on the inside of one arm, but these are minor issues. This is a very beautiful, high quality, chair. It is on the heavy side because I believe it is solid wood. It is finished with a smooth shiny coating. It is very sturdy and would complement many decors. It would be great as an extra chair when company comes. Pull out this beauty instead of the rickety one you have been meaning to replace. Or this would work as a student's desk chair and look great in that dorm room. However you use this great chair, you will be happy to have it on hand. I love mine and plan to use it a lot!!!.
