This arrived well packaged with no issues. It is heavy duty. Its made up of 4 glass panels with corner connectors you attach yourself using a Philips screwdriver. There are heat resistant feet that hold it up about an inch for an air gap needed by the burners. I would not use my firepit without it since it protects those sitting near from the flames blowing their direction, or being blow out. There are little legs on the bottoms of each corner hardware, with a little rubber foot. The is nice because the glass itself is setting up (and not on) the mantel surface. I had to ding it one star due to the directions being wrong (had to disassemble a panel and flip it) and the rock tray is very shallow for the provided lava rocks.
