This fixture is just as it is pictured. It came well packaged. The 5 curved arms that hold the glass shades come attached to the center column. This is important as I have gotten fixtures where you have to attach yourself. They aren't difficult to attach, but it can be difficult making sure they all align to each other or the globes will look tilted. We are very happy with this simple but elegant light fixture..
