The table set “Ovale” was designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. " The “Ovale” collection strives to be original, but it also wants to be rustic and traditional. We set out in pursuit of delicate expression. This composition speaks about everyday life, about breakfast, lunch, and about everyone getting together for dinner. There is a desire for simplicity".

I've never purchased new flatware, always had some hand-me-downs which was just fine because it never mattered. But I saw these, loved the look and purchased them. Silly me thought I was getting 5 place settings but I actually got 5 pieces. Doesn't matter, they are sleek and pretty and I get to use them and the rest of the family can use the others.. Nancy. Sharp, yet with a touch of sensitivity and elegance. Linear, yet with an organic quality of plants. We intend to shift our familiar sensations with chopsticks onto cutlery.

Great spoon, good quality, nice finish. I chose the Alessi Mu design because of the number of complimentary products offered in the set. They aren't stocked, so there was some wait time. Plan ahead, these were worth the wait!. Christine. Short Hills, NJ. Sun Jun 22 2014

Following the typical minimalist approach that features in all Jasper Morrison's work, this design is an attempt to reduce the "cutlery-object" to its barest essence, its purest and most customary form and what might tentatively be called its definitive form, and deliberately stripped of all stylistic value and - perhaps precisely because of this - recognizable as Morrison's work.

This fork is suppose to be used for spaghetti but I end up reaching for it for other dishes also. I wish it had an extra inch added to the handle so it would be more balanced. It is very top heavy and doesnt balance well on the side of the bowl, so it falls in. We have had it for a few months and no chipping of the plating, it still looks in good condition.. Pablo. Following his interest in tradition and good food, Virgil Abloh designed Conversational Objects as "toolsets for the dining table". This set, produced in matt-finish stainless steel, is paired with a cutlery holder, with a similarly opaque finish to resemble a threaded bolt.

For Achille Castiglioni objects had to fulfill two essential requirements: They should offer practical solutions to the small problems arising while "being at the table" possibly with intelligent functional innovation, and they should also satisfy the public's taste, for example, for the finish of metal.

The Dry collection was Alessi's only model of cutlery. Despite the grim prospects forwarded by those in the sector, the collection proves that its innovative shape and resolute style, along with extreme manageability and an excellent finish, can weather the storm. Over the years, the Dry model has opened up the road for us and various other cutlery sets, though it has always remained well up among the leaders.

The collection was born from an idea by Gualtiero Marchesi, an Italian chef considered to be the founder of modern Italian cuisine: combining design and function with a new element: each piece of cutlery has a specific raison detre. The spaghetti spoon and fork, are a modern and fashionable couple. The tongs allow you to savor hors oeuvres and fried food without piercing them. The steak is set with the famous two-prong fork and the rigorously scalpel-shaped steak knife, in order not to fray the meat. The ambidextrous fish knife was created to meet the needs of a left-handed person. The philosophy that inspired the design of this series is one of the chopsticks. Handles and knobs are references to the famous Japanese object, while bowls and prongs maintain in their lines, all the rich gastronomic Italian tradition.
