The bookcase came extremely well packed and in good shape. The selves are adjustable, with multiples holes for sizing. It came with runners nailed to the bottom, which needed to be removed. I noticed these after we had the bookshelf in place and it seemed unsteady. Should have instructions included to clarify removal of them, since they were securely nailed in place. Once filled up with books, the holes for adjusting the selves are not visible. The book case is heavy and sturdy. The bookcase itself is very nice, but some holes didn't line up when putting it together. Also the top portion and the bottom portion do not line up flush across the front. They are offset from each other. I did not see anything explaining that the pegs that hold the shelves are made of plastic.
