I ordered the slate gray and they are definitely not gray if you're really looking for that color. These sheets are nice and soft. They also feel silky. I didn't get them out of the dryer right away, so they definitely wrinkle quite a bit if not taken out of the dryer and put on the bed right away. In the picture, I put the pillow case on a queen size pillow (I got the queen size set). The pillow case fits well but it was confusing at first because I thought it was inside out based on the seams, but the envelope part didn't work. Yes, they are expensive and worth every penny! I'm not sure WHY the title has the word "Sateen" in the description. These are the same SUPERIOR brand sheets I have purchased for 12-15 years and they are 100% Egyptian Cotton and sturdy not thin like many of sateen sheets are.
