The lamp feels substantial and went together well after finagling the threads on the handle. Beautiful lamp! It was well packaged, easy to assemble, and very sturdy. The light it casts is soft, not bright. My couch is a sofa bed so I didn’t want guests to have to get up to turn off the ceiling light. I don’t know if this lamp would be bright enough to read by, but it’s very pretty.
