Overall my son loves it and this is what he’s been wanting for a couple months now. There were a little bit of confusion on the beginning steps only because you have to really pay attention to the whole positions. After you get past that part, it’s really easy. I put this together by myself, but one person or two would be better because sometimes you need help lifting something. This bed took me a long time to assemble because it has so. many. parts. The instructions are fairly straightforward except for the step where you have to figure out on which side you want ladder. Its unclear if the diagram is showing you a right or left setup and the call-out telling you how to position one of the legs to make it right or left is confusing. Otherwise its good quality and *seems* sturdy. I like that the ladder rungs have some ridges on them so your feet wont slide, and that the sides are tall enough for a 8 inch mattress. It does squeak a bit when it is used, whether somebody's turning over in bed or climbing the ladder. Some small padded spacers might help with that squeak where it is metal on metal. Bought two of these loft twin beds for our girls who share a room. Overall pleased with the beds. A few of the wood pieces were already damaged/splintered in some places, but it didn’t affect the sturdiness. It seems a little wobbly, but I think if you add extra cross bars to the back and sides for support it will feel more secure.
