The standard half hinge is self-latching for secure closure. The floating design compensates for any gate sag. For additional security, a padlock can be used.

It is sturdy and the right proportion for the gate. I’m having the fence installed next week, but I had my installer check it out ahead of time to make sure everything was as it should be prior to the install.
