How do I know the length of track I need for my opening? We suggest your every door is 4"-6" wider than your half opening. And the track length should be equal to your total two doors width and 1ft longer than your opening. For example, if you have two doors that are each 4FT wide. You will need 2 x 4FT = 8FT long track. Or if you have an opening that is 8FT wide, you will need the 9FT long track.

Initially the barn door hardware kit was returned to sender due to a shipping issue. When we contacted the Wayfair customer service desk to inquire they quickly solved the problem and had another hardware kit delivered which arrived in an expedited fashion. We are still awaiting installation and will update our review with pictures once we have the barn doors and hardware put up. We are excited to see the finished product and are very happy with Wayfair’s top notch customer service. Updating my initial review. Still love this barn door hardware after a few years of use. The hardware package only has lag bolts for wooden wall or drywall. Homacer sliding barn door hardware kit is compatible with door thickness. If you have thinner or thicker door, please contact Homacer for the correct length of the hex bolts of the hangers, or you can get them from your local hardware store. Please also notify Homacer to put spacer extensions in the package if you have thicker doors. The spacer extension will extend the track further from the wall to fit the thicker door. If you have a door trim, you’d better put a header board that is as thick as the trim and then attach the hardware to the header board. From the top of the door to the ceiling, you need to have clearance for u shape bracket bypass hardware. All tracks that are under coming in one piece. All tracks that are above are connected by two tracks using a junction plate.

The standard door thickness for our hardware is from 1/2'' to 1 1/4''. Each complete track can hold door weights up to 120 lbs. Usually, we recommend the track length to be at least double the total door width or the opening. For example, if you have two doors that are each 30'' wide. You will need 2* (30''+30'') = 120'' long track. Or if you have an opening that is 48'' wide, you will need at least a 96'' long track. I love this door, it matched our decor perfectly. We had an awkward door in the master bathroom. When it was open it blocked the tub. This door solved that problem for us. Plan plenty of time to assemble everything...it took us close 4 hours to complete the project. It was a bit tricky to put together and hang, definitely not a 1 man job unless you have large clamps. We used 1-2 people to hold the door planks tight and one to screw the top and bottom boards in place. We chose not to remove the old bathroom door trim moulding, so we needed to use the spacers and extra washers for the door to clear the trim. It is a rustic door, made from soft pine wood, so it’s easy to mar the wood and the planks were a little warped, that’s why it took someone squeezing the planks together. The floor guide is way too short, as are the screws, to install on thick carpet. They would probably work on hardwood floors. We will need to purchase a new guide for it to actually reach the bottom guide track. Be sure to measure and level things often, getting it right is important for the door to work well. The instructions were somewhat poorly translated and are sometimes only in mm, some were converted to inches. The instructions said to use a chainsaw for one step, but no saw was needed.
