Compared with the 1mm panel, we use the 2mm panel, which is more heat-resistant and strong. The heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant powder coating can reduce burn marks and better resist rust and corrosion.

63 gallons is a lot bigger than I thought. It is very heavy and sturdy when put together. This burn barrel was pretty easy to put together. Pay attention to where the first 8 screws go. This is very important. I put it together with 3 helpers ages 2 months, 2 years, and 4 years and even with all the experts helping it was together in under an hour. Also pay attention and make sure you don't put in the middle screws on the ring part so you can attach the legs for that step. Got this put together over two days, because having help the first day we did the screws wrong and then I was too hot to finish. Wow! I feel sorry for the other guys that are drawn to the inferior pits that are offered here. There are a few that match quality materials and style. Very few exceed it though. It is smaller than many other pits however, there are larger cast iron pits but costing much more! Our pit will fit our cozy corner in my garden nicely. The grate is solid and unlike many other pits, it requires a rocket scientist to assemble. So don’t be fooled by the fancy unnecessary add ons , and don’t get attached by the fine finishes offered. You will be replacing both soon enough with your next pit! Fire pits are supposed to look like this iron pit which will age gracefully and rust won’t claim it any time soon. Buy a cover for 15 bucks and you’re gold. Don’t let an added cover sway you to an inferior piece. Or don’t be led to a pit with a added poker. Use a stick!! If you are looking for a pit that is easy to put together, will look great a long time, is versatile as a cooker and will last a long time with minimal fuss and capital, DUH !!! Buy this pit!!!. I've had this fire pit for several years now. I will say, it's held up well for all the abuse I've given it! Some very big, hot fires. I use it for yard/tree debris, and the occasional, sit around the fire with a glass or two of wine. It's been left out in the rain and snow and none the worse for it. My only complaint is the design cut into the metal. A few more connections would have made it better. Some of the deer/antlers have warped, probably from the heat, and are leaning out.
