Nice bed for the price. I needed something in a midcentury style for a guest room and didn’t want to pay a lot. The headboard is very lightweight but I don’t need it to be heavy duty. Plus the light weight made it easy to install. Nobody’s slept in the bed yet but feels sturdy and doesn’t make noise when I lay on it. Making this bed is easy, our mattress is a Saatva Firm at 14”. Mattress drops nicely and fills the platform leaving a small gap to tuck sheets. Mattresses nowadays are very heavy but this bed allows picking up the corners without throwing out your back. Bed stays in place with no squeaking or cracking sounds. Ours arrived flawlessy. Here’s the thing. This bed is good. But it has some quality control issues. When I took it out of the box, the headboard was scratched. That was disappointing. But that’s not all of it. The slats we’re not counter properly. Therefore, the washer would not cover the bolts. So I know at some point it’s going to be a problem. Also, there was one part for the nightstand that was just completely missing a screw hole altogether. They just didn’t bore the hole at all. It was so odd. That being said this is solid wood. The package is a tall box. If it needs to be transported to upper level or lower level must have help to do so. I just opened the package and took each piece to upper level. The packaging was great. Instructions were clear. Lots of extra pieces of nuts were given. Can’t go wrong anywhere with assembly. Each piece was very well made. There’s hardly any assembly. It probably takes about 30 minutes to 40 minutes maximum. The wood pieces are solid wood. Has very smooth finish. The texture of the finished surface is soft and gives expensive feel. Once assembled one can tell its sturdy construction. We’ve been using it for a month now and no creaking or any noise. Perfect for apartment size bedroom or guest bedroom. Very happy with purchase.
