Repels water, if you spill something or it’s rained on the water just puddles and runs off. The cushions are thick and comfy. The back cushions have a zipper so I can take them off to be washed. For the price this couch is surprisingly good quality. If you want a really comfortable high end outdoor couch you need to spend minimum 1,500, but for 550 this is a good option. The cushions are a bit thin on the backs but I would give it a 710 for comfort. If you try and use the provided tool to assemble it will take you all day. We love this couch! We looked at what felt like a million and settled on this one. One of the pieces came damaged and we reached out to the seller who replaced the part free of charge within a week, no hassle. It was easy to put together with two people, took about 30 minutes. The cushions are comfortable and it looks great. My only complaint is that the back cushions are free floating, they don't velcro or attach to the back of the couch in any way so when you get up and down they tend to flop around, but that is just the way they are designed, not a flaw. Love it! I was worried about the low profile, but once the cushions are on it is perfect and very comfy. The cushions have removable covers which is so noce. You are able to connect the pieces so they will not seperate apart.
