I'm going to go ahead and review even though we are not to the point in our new home build where we are ready to install the mailbox. We did unpack to make sure we have all the parts. We might be missing a "plate" to attach the actual box to the post. One set of instructions said we should have it and the other instruction didn't show it...weird. The holes, however, do match up with the box and post so I'm hoping with this style maybe the missing plate is nothing we need. Each piece seems very sturdy, and it is such an elegant look to it. I can't wait to install. It was pretty pricey, and that was what took me so long to finally purchase. UPDATE: after 3 years, I still love it, BUT a truck clipped it less than a year installed and broke the decorative scroll part off. Unfortunately it’s not made of material that can be welded back on so we had someone make a similar scroll with iron. AND after a couple years the paint completely bubbled and peeled off! See pics for reference. The numbers didn’t last through the first year— All but 1 fell off during the winter and then that summer became discolored. They are currently stuck on with gorilla tape.. it came out perfect. It was even bigger than I thought it was, but I love it now USPS could put all their little packages inside of it. Very solid material, and it does have a back plate so you dont have to worry about moisture soaking in from behind. The hooks on the bottom or pretty solid, if I had to I could hang my groceries there while I look for my keys and not be worried about damaging anything.Happy with my purchase would definitely get it again.. I love this mailbox. My first inclination was to have Handy install but decided to tackle it myself. I went on Etsy and ordered the classically styled numbers which I hope hold up over time (Etsy seller Hildahomedecor solid brass numbers) My handyman came over today and used liquid glue to lock in the finial so that it can’t be twisted off and disappear (I hadn’t even thought to do that) Project is complete except for getting the old post out!. I just had the mailbox installed. It is VERY SOLID and heavy. Adds a lot of oopmh and curb appeal. Minus one star because some of the welding wasn't very clean and for the price I paid the seams should be perfect. Also, the screws that screw the mailbox to the base are very long. They end up sticking out alot inside the mailbox which make the mail not sit flat.. Carolyn. Half Moon Bay, CA. Fri Aug 02 2019
