Once upon I time I could sharpen my knifes to razor sharpness by hand. Decades later my hands are no longer steady enough to do that. I spent 10 minutes reading the instructions and then ten minutes getting two 8" knives sharper than I could do it by hand. After using it a few more times I'll be able to get a knife sharp in under a minute. Seriously, I think I'll be able to sharpen a knife as fast as a professional chef does with one of their sharpening rods. I was able to skip the ironing and steam out a few wrinkles here and there. I like how lightweight the machine is which makes it easy to move around. After about 10 seconds of being turned on, the steam started to come out. Makes for a big time saver not having to wait. One this I don’t like it the water tank doesn’t snap or clip in.
