Easy to install but I would recommend hard wiring it in. Have an outlet installed that is in the bottom right hand corner of where you want the towel warmer otherwise you will have 3 ft of cable sitting on the floor. I looked at reducing the length of the cable and adding a new plug but the plugs are still more bulky than the original. I ended up hardwiring it in and am very pleased with the result. We had a friend tell us to make sure we put a towel warmer in! So glad we did! The square shape matched all our Square accessories! This particular one can be hot wired or plugged in. So mine just plugs into the wall! You do have to turn it on and off. And it usually take a minute to get warm… (it doesn’t have an emergency to hot turn off in it) so we are going to look for some kind of timer maybe to leave it plugged into. But we do enjoy it!.
