Originally received one that did not expand well (most likely due to being compressed in the box for too long, is my guess). Received a replacement that expanded well immediately - did not need to wait the suggested 12 hours. It is more comfortable with a small pillow for back support. The original one I received required me to break the foam apart as it was severely stuck. The new one did not require this. Overall, decent for a foam chair. Nice, low budget couch; the cushions could be fluffier and there is a very mild “new furniture” off gassing smell, but I expect both of those to resolve somewhat in another 24 hours. This piece for a teen’s bedroom, so it doesn’t need to withstand the daily wear and tear that our living room pieces have to handle. I got the sofa bed in beige faux leather with cherry legs. I have not tried sleeping on it, and it is quite solid to sit on, but it is nonetheless exactly what I needed. I wanted to convert my son's old room into a den/guestroom that could accommodate him on his infrequent visits home (a regular sofa might have made him feel unwelcome and displaced) or that could accommodate the occasional overnight guest without encouraging them to linger too long. This sofa is the perfect size to create a reading corner amidst a wall of books, while still providing reasonable sleeping accommodations for 1-2 guests. I am very pleased. I looked far and wide before finding anything in a pale beige faux leather (I am vegan and dislike large dark sofas).
