I like the combination of cane mesh front drawers in natural fibers with the depth of color in black . I think it keeps the piece from being too heavy and overcomes obstacles with using darker anchor pieces. Overall, I am pleased with the size, scale, hue and capacity. It looks and feels like a quality addition to the room. Hatay is a retro dining chair with a synthetic cane seat and back. The legs are finished in solid sungkai wood. The chair with Scandinavian retro design gives this club chair a very distinct looks that are almost impossible to match. Hatay is designed by the Industrial Modern team and it's suitable for both residential and commercial use.

I ordered 6 of these, 5 were perfect but one came laughably damaged. Wayfair immediately sent a replacement which was great. The chairs are very nice, but I wish they were heavier. They are so lightweight that they come off feeling a bit cheap. The synthetic cane is very synthetic looking. I am hoping the trade off is longevity vs real cane. Note that the seat part has a layer of beige mesh underneath to add support. It looks a bit strange and it’s not in the product photos. I may cover the seat with custom cushions. Last note is that the frame of the chair is not one piece of bent wood, and you can visibly see the finger joints of the wood parts glued together. This sort of adds to the “cheap” factor a bit.
