so far it is keeping cold. the freezer space is cut down with the extra ice maker,if i leave it off and use the extra room, i am in fear that the ice may not start working again. i really like it,but it might not start working if it is left off to long. so i have been informed by LG. We had our LG refrigerator/freezer for five years now and it has performed well. The only issue that I had was very recent. The freezer drain line became clogged where it sits in the drain pan and had to remove the back panel to access it and flush/wash it out. I put it back on and restarted the appliance.
