Our contractor told us we probably had to get a custom shower door made, but I found this and thought we could try it. Ended up working out PERFeCTLY and it was a fraction of the price of the custom quotes!! Definitely need professional installation, but they had no problem putting it in. Installed this in our shower with an opening of 40 1/2 inches wide. Fit was pretty good had to use a little more silicone on the glass wall section. In my case getting the door to swing without rubbing the bottom water guard was a bit of work. But when all said and done door looks great. Very satisfied, strong and sturdy. So I love this fan, BUT wish a couple things were different. I bought this to go along with my other Tiffany shade fan. Now that I have it installed, I want to replace my other fan with this one. So the electrician said this was easy to install. I enjoy their being 3 different lighting options, but the remote only lets you change it by turning off and on. The other downside is that I can not dim the lights any. Other than that I have no complaints. It is very quite and does not wobble any like the other fan. Very nice door. Hinges are set for a 90 degree close. The hinges mount to one shower wall. If your walls aren't square with your shower base then your door will close too hard or not enough. If your door closes too hard, you can open a hinge and take a spring out. There are two springs in each hinge. If your door doesn't close enough you can open the hinge, remove the shaft and file or grind it to change the closing angle. I had to do the latter because my shower wall was at an angle that was greater than 90 degrees to my shower floor. The shower door directions don't mention altering the hinges.
