The bed frame is lovely. I put it together by myself in about 2.5 hours. I did add extra slats because I worried that the spacing between them would be too far apart for my mattress. The color is SLIGHTLY warmer than pictured as others have said but it’s not like WARM. It’s been study so far and we love how it looks in our room. This is a really nice bed. All solid wood. Very well packaged. No damage from shipping. I’m a 67 year-old woman and assembled it by myself. Instructions were very clear and screws were well labeled with a separate compartment for each group of the same size. Just two snags I ran into that might help someone else out: when installing the wooden “spacers” at the head of the bed, I would recommend pre-drilling holes for the screws. I ended up snapping the heads off the screws when trying to tighten them without pre-drilling. Was able to remove them with pliers and then drilled the holes. Much better! I had some screws of the same size to replace the broken ones. Went in much easier. The other issue was with the foot board. There are chunky wooden dowels that go into the sides of the footboard, with the other end of the dowels going into the legs. They fit into the footboard but the holes in the legs were not big enough. I ended up shaving down half the dowel with a box cutter blade to make it fit. Worked great. This bed is very well made. I had my reservations and took me weeks to pick out a bed. I definitely made the right decision with this bed. The instructions were easy to follow, my dad helped took us about 30 mins. It does not make any noises and my Saatva 14.5 king size mattress that weighs a ton fits perfectly. Price & quality as expected. Found the style I wanted at a reasonable price. I needed a bed without footboard for a growing grandson! I liked the fast and free shipping. Several pages of assembly instructions were listed online which I printed out. All instruction sheets were also included but one -which I had already printed. Assembly was quite involved, but grateful my son gave 2 hours of his day off to help me out. The only thing I’m not pleased with are the center supports attached to the slats, which show underneath when looking from the side, unless you have a long bedspread.
