This is so pretty! I’m doing a kitchen refresh and decided this would look great on the stovetop between the green cabinets with the off white tiles (not yet installed). The whistle is annoyingly loud, so you will hear it no matter where you are. You do have to flip the spout cover up independently of the handle I don’t mind, but you might. It’s a good, high quality knife overall, but I have other knives in the under $100 range that are comparable or better. So while it’s a good product, I am not convinced it has the best value proposition. Pros: very sharp; nice weight on the handle - pretty much the opposite of flimsy; great size knife for everyday cooking - does a perfect job of chopping veggies, cutting meats and chicken. Appears to be high quality that will last over time although seeing as I’ve only had it for a few weeks, I can’t comment on longevity yet. Cons: just after a few weeks of very light use, the knife did not pass the tomato test - it was very tough to cut through even cherry tomatoes. I am impressed with the look and feel of this 2 piece carving set. They are well constructed, feel heavy, but not too heavy to cut all meats from turkey to Rib-eye roasts.
