The awning fabric cover and valance are woven out of the Beauty-Mark branded 100% acrylic fabric and have resistant coatings to help (1) maintain its rich color while being exposed to harsh UV rays, (2) prevent mildew and soil buildup, and (3) maintain a water-resistant barrier allow for rain to roll off of the awning and not soak through the fabric. It is recommended that the awnings are used only during sunny weather and to avoid the use of the awning during poor weather conditions such as rain, snow, high winds, etc. The performance of awning is durable and can withstand high winds up to 35km/h. So I was skeptical of the price, quality and engineering of this awning especially when I needed the larger 13x10 size, I was afraid it would be too flimsy but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the design and quality of this awning is very good. All the materials along with the engineering make it operate smoothly and efficiently the key is to mount it solidly and tighten all clamps so there is no movement. A bit of advice would be to not over tighten the small screws holding the two halves together they are meant to hold it together not for structural integrity. Common sense would tell you not to keep it open in a wind or heavy rain situation. My only complaint would be some of the directions get lost in the translation but the phone number they supplied was answered right away and the person on the other end was knowledgeable enough to answer all my questions. Needed replacement cover for a Ducane 4420. OE cover from mfg was too tight and after about 3 yrs sharp corners on the grill tore the cover. Next was cheap replacement from big box home improvement store that barely lasted the season and hung on the grill like a too big coat. It had no discernable front or back. I just received this cover and I feel like Goldilocks - it is just right!. The size is perfect. Nice fit but not so tight it is difficult to get on and off. Quality is perfect. Nice heavy material which appears to be well constructed.
