After extended use, it has retained most of its original performance, continuing to hold height reliably without significant sinking or wobbling. The areas that keep this chair from earning a perfect rating are related to long-term durability. After about a year of use, the mesh on the back began to tear, which was disappointing because the rest of the chair was still functioning well. The fabric covering the armrests also showed wear much sooner than expected, lasting only around six months before it began to deteriorate. Neither issue made the chair unusable, but they did affect its overall appearance and perceived quality. Fortunately, these concerns seem more related to material choices than the chair's overall design. The frame, adjustment mechanisms, and base have continued to perform well, suggesting that the underlying construction is sound. With slightly more durable mesh and more wear-resistant armrest material, this chair could easily compete with much more expensive office seating. Overall, the Modway Porch & Den Alturas Mesh Office Chair remains a comfortable and attractive option for home or office use. It performs well where it matters most and offers dependable everyday comfort, but a few improvements to the upholstery and mesh would make an already good chair an exceptional one. So far so good. I've used the chair for two days now and here are my initial thoughts. * Assembly was simple and took me 45 mins. * Chair looks good and is comfortable for 8 hours. * Seat wobbles a little back and forth when locked in the 90° position. * Arm rests are very low. I'm only 5'5" tall and are two low when folded in the down position. * Construction of seat bottom looks substandard and not very well done. We will see how it stands the test of time.. Jose. FL. In our house, we’ve been through about a dozen different office chairs (thanks to working from home and teenagers who sit in theirs for both homework and gaming). We’ve tried a number of different brands of office and gaming chairs at different price points. And unfortunately, we were disappointed in this chair for the price. The chair looked nice, had a comfortable but breathable mesh seat, and claimed to have all the features we tend to look for: adjustable seat height, arm height, headrest, and lumbar support. The foot rest looked like a nice bonus. But once we put the chair together, we found we could not make the seat height or lumbar support adjust. It isn’t clear whether the hydraulic switches were malfunctioning, but if so, the manufacturer may be able to provide support or a replacement and fix the issue. The headrest only moved a small amount to adjust it, and this was not controlled by the same switches. It was also very tough to move up and down to the right height. The footrest was also difficult to pull out to use. The star-shaped base was plastic and came with some scuffs on it. I loved that the chair came with a good assembly manual. Very comfortable and easy to set up! Purchased for my home office. It doesnt have too many bells and whistles, but you can lock how far and where it leans back, and adjust the lumbar support, raise and lower each arm independently and the arm rests move closer and further away from chair.. We bought 2 of these in brown/black for our home office and are very pleased with how they look and feel. They are comfortable and have all the features we need, such as adjustable height, tilt, and arm height. The seats and arms are nicely padded and the chair swivels easily. Assembly was pretty simple, too, but for us it was easier with two people. We haven't had the chairs very long, so I wonder how long the faux leather will hold up, but for now it looks good and the chairs feel sturdy enough.
