You’re likely to get some scratching of the paint or coating on the middle separator if you lean things like pizza stones or anything slightly abrasive against it, but otherwise has help up really well. I bought this fridge new, after a few months part of the ice maker cracked off... now it leaks, I have to check it to pull off frozen cubes from the release arm thing. Been doing this for a while now. I still cannot afford a new maker. Wish they had a different design that would fit in this place. I have checked occasionally. I still get ice.
