Impressive model! I haven't even removed it from the packaging as yet. I am a woodworker and planning to construct a case for it as I did for the Independence, a model I finished this year. Only question I have is about the masts when first received. Upon opening the top of the shipping box I remember all the sails were 90 degrees to the hull. Now after 2 days, all the sails are 30 degrees to the left. I included a shot looking down at the model. I was interested to know if others have noticed this or am I mistaken? Also found this after unpacking (see picture) of rear mast warped at top. The other noticeable item was the size of the rigging blocks, obviously too large but can be overlooked as they seem to accentuate the model when viewed as a whole.. Greg. Gilroy, CA. We purchased the Catch 3" x 12" subway tile in Ice with a matte finish. For a crisp, clean look, we chose to extend the tile out from the shower and across an entire wall. It does double-duty as a backsplash behind our vanity. Running the tile from floor to ceiling made our small, windowless bathroom feel much bigger too. We went for a vertical, stacked layout to give a modern vibe. Lastly, we recommend getting samples of both the glossy and matte finish so you can see the two side-by-side. A great item for Civil War buffs! This is an outstanding wood model of the CSS Alabama, the Confederate States ship that menaced Union merchant and naval vessels. Master craftsmen using historical photographs, drawings or original plans meticulously handcraft these highly detailed wood models from scratch. They are built to scale with high-grade wood such as western red cedar, rosewood and mahogany. They are 100% hand built individually using plank-on-frame construction method and are similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. This beautiful C.S.S. Alabama model comes in the natural wood finish. It features a plank on frame, three decks and one row of open portholes on each side of the hull. The front bowsprit and 3 large masts are connected securely using advanced rigging and lines painstakingly knotted and fastened by hand.
