Bookcases required no assembly, which was great. Very heavy. One bookcase came damaged. The underside weighted base was already broken off of the bottom as the box was opened. It did not seem to affect the stability of the bookcase. The other bookcase also had a minor deep scratch on the side. We were able to hide it when pushing bookcases together.
