So I was skeptical of the price, quality and engineering of this awning especially when I needed the larger 13x10 size, I was afraid it would be too flimsy but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the design and quality of this awning is very good. All the materials along with the engineering make it operate smoothly and efficiently the key is to mount it solidly and tighten all clamps so there is no movement. A bit of advice would be to not over tighten the small screws holding the two halves together they are meant to hold it together not for structural integrity. Common sense would tell you not to keep it open in a wind or heavy rain situation. My only complaint would be some of the directions get lost in the translation but the phone number they supplied was answered right away and the person on the other end was knowledgeable enough to answer all my questions. We just had it installed yesterday. Recommend that you get a print out of the specifications and the installation. From what I was able to read in Wayfare’s description section, we would be able to install the unit flush with the ceiling. And unfortunately, because I didn’t have printed specifications we had to drop down the unit a foot from the ceiling. Not the inconspicuous flush mount unit and I was hoping for. According to my contractor, this was a very complicated unit to install. To be fair this is a relatively new category of range top hoods that are being offered. Pleased with the noise level, but have yet to cook with it. Read reviews from other previous purchasers, and a common statement was how small the remote controller was.
