[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The BLACK+DECKER Professional Push Wire Matter Certified Smart Under Cabinet Lighting Kit is a home improvement item that I didn't know that I needed until it was installed!
Our kitchen is rather dark, so we have bright ceiling lights, but it's still shadowy when cooking and preparing food on the stove and counters.
When I opened the box, I was a bit intimidated initially, until reading the very detailed instructions. Being a skilled home diyer, but by no means am an electrician, (ceiling fans and lights have been self-installed in the past), it took a mere 45 minutes with an on-hand tool, a wire stripper, the adhesive option provided worked for us, and we did not need a screwdriver, but some may.
Once installed, (we chose a nearby outlet that was perfectly located to provide power, and access to the control box), the FUN really began!
I quickly paired it to my Alexa App, (there are other pairing choices available), and was DAZZLED by it's performance! You can even control it with voice command.
There are so many great color choices, brightness levels, and even pre-set mood color change settings, that it will never be boring.
If you're like us, and like to listen to music and dance, while in the kitchen, there is even a disco mode. Our house is an open concept, so relaxing at night in the living room, watching movies, and having the chill colors in the background, is so relaxing.
But the greatest feature, for me, is to be able to cook, at the darkest area of my kitchen, with these gorgeous and bright lights! (You can dim them as desired, and the white color has FIVE variations alone!)
I like to leave a bit of lighting on in the house at night, in case a family member wakes up for a drink of water or midnight snack, and the dim features work great for this. I can even pre-set them to come on at daybreak and go off at dusk.
