We recently had new floors installed and are slowly replacing all of our living room furniture. This is the first piece we purchased, and I assembled it by myself. The small screwdriver included with it eventually gave me blisters, so I switched to one we already owned. Attaching the top piece was a little tricky at first, but once I realized it was easier to lie on my back underneath the table to insert the screws, the rest was easy. It’s a solid table and looks great. I work from home so it’s been nice to extend the top of the table and use it as a desk while catching up on TV shows. Most tricky part of assembly was screwing in the lift-top mechanism into the table sides and top, due to lack of space and odd position for screwing in. This is a great little coffee table. It is rather small so check the dimensions carefully. It works well in my tiny living room though. I didn’t give it five stars because the lift mechanism isn’t very smooth and it feels like it’s going to break or something and if you don’t have anything in the table you have to hold it still to pull out the lift or it scoots towards you instead of opening. The finish is the right color for my living room, and I think I chose the right size to fit in front of my sofa. As I write this review the coffee table isn’t assembled. I expect once it is the table will look as good as it does in the images. However, putting the table together will be daunting task and will require 2 persons.
