these are gorgeous in person. I tried making a drilling template and they may be just slightly off the 5" bolt holes so I measured each time. Had to use the bolts from previous drawer handles. They are built to scale with high-grade wood such as: western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. Our model was built according to scale through original plans, pictures and drawings. We absolutely use no plastic parts, only the highest quality wood and metal parts. They are 100% hand built individually using plank-on-frame construction methods and are similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. This is a fantastic model built from western red cedar and mahogany. The hull is varnished with multiple layers to give it a glossy look.
