The box is truly extra large. One of my cats is 20 lbs, long and fluffy (big furry tail) and she fits fine with room to turn around. They've been using both. I put a 28 lb. Box of litter (Slide purple multi-cat) and it doesnt go all over the place because of the walls and the step to get out. I also have a short step in front of the box because it is a high entrance. Not that they couldn't jump in...just spoiled!
