We are very satisfied with the Farmhouse Murphy Bed. The actual product is well represented online, including the color. It took my husband about 12 hours to assemble by himself. It would go a bit faster with a second person. There were a lot of pieces and he did follow the instructions which were well written. The only reason 4 vs 5 stars due to the following: assembly time (it still would take a while for 2 people to assemble) and the cabinet would look better with screw caps giving it a finished look. No one has slept on it yet, but assume it will be fairly comfortable for guests. We would have gone with a thicker mattress but followed the guidelines to make sure the cabinet would close. The slats seem to support the mattress. We hope the mattress does not slide around too much once someone tries to sleep on it. The bed does have to be weighted down to keep it from rising off the floor if no one is on the bed. See photos showing foot of bed not weighted down and weighted down with ankle weights. We plan to place a side table to offer a night stand. The small shelf looks a bit flimsy, so we will be cautious. I am not very tall and was able to open and close with ease. I was so skeptical about purchasing this bed because of the price point. It was a really good price. And I was worried that it was going to be cheaply made or pieces broken when we got it, or it wouldn’t fit together the way it’s supposed to. It took my Handyman about eight hours to put it together. I was initially skeptical…will I like, will I not and if not how much will it cost me to ship back But I can tell you this unit is indeed a KEEPER! Very nice bed once you get it put together. It took me and my husband 2 days to put it together. There were parts left over so we worried that we might have missed some steps.
